Buildings
- Screeds: Over the past decades the use of mastic asphalt screeds has become established as a common construction method: In comparison with traditional construction methods the application of mastic asphalt screeds offers the following advantages: reduced layer thickness, lower static stress on the whole building, improvement in the sound protection, significant time savings and finally, no additional development of undesirable humidity in the building.
- Industrial flooring: Mastic asphalt is a much favoured building material for hard-wearing and durable industrial floor surfaces. The most advantageous feature of mastic asphalt industrial flooring is its wear resistance when driven over by forklifts and hand pallet trucks. Fields of application: warehouses, production halls and manufacturing plants.
- Mastic asphalt terrazzo flooring: You can polish mastic asphalt screeds. Different visual effects can be created depending on the type and size of the coarse aggregate. In spite of varying aesthetic qualities the proven advantages of mastic asphalt screeds are provided at all times: warm to stand on, a joint-free surface covering large areas, impact sound insulation etc.
- Flat roofs: Flat roofs with mastic asphalt as waterproofing layer are common practice in Great Britain and France. Mastic asphalt is void-free, this making it waterproof and resistant to root growth – mastic asphalt is therefore suitable for use as a root protection layer on flat roofs with extensive and even intensive planting.
- Terraces: The application of mastic asphalt to terraces as waterproofing, to protect rooms situated beneath, is frequently implemented with heat insulation. For this purpose it is expedient to provide another layer on top of the mastic asphalt.
- Balconies: For balconies, mastic asphalt can either be left in its natural state or coloured and then used directly, or a top layer can be applied. Mastic asphalt coverings are joint-free and easy to clean. They require little maintenance and can be put to full use after three to four hours.
