Around 70 mastic asphalt experts from many European countries met in San Sebastian, Spain, at the beginning of October for the IMAA's annual mastic asphalt symposium. The main focus was among others on technical topics related to bitumen. In particular, the numerous possibilities for modifying this component of mastic asphalt with additives and the limits of temperature reduction were the focus of attention. The second day's focus was on new bitumen technologies as well as the importance of temperature reduction for the production and processing of mastic asphalt.
