This year's Mastic Asphalt Congress of the IMAA will take place on 3 and 4 October 2024 in San Sebastian (Spain). You already have the opportunity to book rooms using the form – and we highly recommend that you do so as soon as possible. San Sebastian is a very touristy city and the preferential conditions for the rooms are only valid until the end of June 2024.

The nearest airport to San Sebastian is Bilbao. From Bilbao airport, San Sebastian can be reached either by hire a car (approx. 75 minutes) or by bus (approx. two hours; changing in Bilbao). The closing date for registering for the IMAA Annual General Meeting 2023 (Technical Congress) is 27^th August 2023.

At the International Mastic Asphalt Congress in Zurich/Switzerland in September 2022, Hendrik Marossow (pictured left), chairman of the German Beratungsstelle für Gussasphaltanwendung e.V., was elected as the new IMAA President. The Swede Mikael Kinnmark, outgoing chairman of the IMAA, handed over his presidential baton and with it the business at the end of January 2023 in Copenhagen.

The IMAA is looking back to a successful mastic asphalt congress in Zurich. Over 100 participants followed the paper presentations on Friday. On Thursday, a very interesting demonstration and tour of a mastic asphalt plant took place as part of the 2022 programme.

The next congress will be on 28^th and 29^th September 2023 in Bruges/Belgium. We kindly ask you to save this date now in your agendas, thanks.

The IMAA is looking forward to organizing another physical congress next autumn - after two difficult years of the pandemic. It will take place on 22 and 23 September 2022 in Zurich (Switzerland) and will be held in three languages (German, English, Chinese). Registration will be possible via the IMAA website in May 2022.

For the first time in its more than 50-year history, the International Mastic Asphalt Association IMAA is unfortunately forced to cancel the congress planned for autumn 2020 in Zurich, Switzerland, and postpone it until autumn 2021.

According to the council, the corona virus crisis will not only cause economic restrictions on companies until well into autumn 2020, but will also influence people's travel behaviour.

The International Mastic Asphalt Congress will now be held in Zurich, Switzerland, on 23 and 24 September 2021.
